This was confirmed after Girona managed to win 4-2 at home to Barcelona. Meanwhile, previously, Real Madrid was also held to a draw by Real Betis with a score of 1-1.

Girona is now at the top of the standings with 41 points, two points ahead of Real Madrid and seven points above Atletico Madrid and Barcelona who are in third and fourth place.
