latest news : Liverpool’s position on Kylian Mbappe’s transfer appears as a star prepares to withdraw from Paris Saint-Germain
Kylian Mbappe could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after informing the Ligue 1 side of his desire to withdraw from the French capital when his contract expires in June 2024.
Liverpool are not interested in signing Kylian Mbappe this summer.
Mbappe, 24, is not planning a one-year extension to his current contract with PSG, which expires in June 2024. If the World Cup winner does not change his mind before the July 31 deadline or agree to a new deal, PSG will listen to offers made to him.
This put Real Madrid, who tried to sign Mbappe two years ago, on high alert. Liverpool have also been interested in the France international in previous transfer windows, but it is believed that Jurgen Klopp’s side will not break the bank to bring him to Merseyside.
As reported by The Telegraph, Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle have all cooled their interest in Mbappe.
Manchester United may still pounce on the player, but his interest depends on who buys the club. Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two rival parties trying to complete the takeover of the Red Devils.

Real and Liverpool were the main candidates to sign Mbappe before he agreed to a new three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain in May 2022. The final season of that deal is optional, with the player now confirming that option will not be activated.

News of Mbappe’s desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain broke out on Monday evening, after a message from the player to the club was leaked to the French newspaper L’Equipe. Mbappe responded to the leak on Tuesday morning and confirmed his position by issuing a statement.
And the statement read: “The club’s management in charge of extending it, which was signed a year ago, as of July 15, 2022, has been informed of the player’s decision and the sole purpose of the letter was to confirm what was previously clarified verbally.”
“Kylian Mbappe and his entourage say that they did not discuss this point again with the club during the year, except 15 days before announcing the letter was sent. Moreover, no possible new extension was discussed.”
